Some record feats by avid puzzle solvers.
The Checkerboard – 8X8
This is the best reported time for the checkerboard:
Tom Nolz "I felt pretty good, and very lucky, to have a sub-15 min solution … Solving it was not too hard. It was just like working on my car: leftover parts at the end!"
The Cube – 4X4X4
And this is by far the best reported time for the cube:
Glen from Air Canada – Glen sat down in my office one day and put the cube together in 5 minutes. This amazed me! He didn't write down his solution however and hasn't been able to get the puzzle back together again.
Jay Jenicek – An experienced Soma solver, Jay solved the cube in 30 minutes. Nice going, Jay!
Abel Garcia – Another 30 minute triumph. An avid puzzle solver, Abel had little problem with this shape.
The Challenger – 6X6 (only 1 possible solution)
Abel Garcia – 2 hrs 40 minutes "It is a very difficult problem!! … the 6×6 assembly finally clicked. I was very happy!"
The Super Challenger – 2X5X6 (only 1 possible solution)
Dave Hecker – "Heya, I managed to solve the 2x5x6 tesselated formation. I'm so excited!! Anyway just wanted to thank you again for the cool puzzle. I swear I didn't use a computer or such thing "
All 54 puzzle shapes and no computer used – an amazing feat!
Dave Hecker – "I' ve done it! After many many many hours spent with your puzzle, I've finally solved all 54 shapes! The 3x3x5 and 3x3x6 gave me the most problems, I was stuck on those two for about three weeks. Thanks for the hours and hours of fun, and even though I have finished all the published shapes its still fun to try to find new ones!"
