The 1x3x3, 1x3x4 and 1x4x4 subshapes come in quite handy in helping solve the 3D aspect of this puzzle. One important thing is to count the cubes and colors and try to calculate what pieces cannot be used in the shape attempted. The 'H' piece comprised of 7 cubes cannot be used in several of the shapes.
